We are well through half way into the year and we have already seen a lot of trends go astray or pick themselves up through the first half. Trends in every aspect such as fashion, interior designing and many more has taken drastic changes throughout the ongoing pandemic.
This time I will get into the kitchen, bringing you the bits and pieces of kitchen trends that has worked and will work for the next half of the year according to experts in the field.
Tiles all over the place!
It’s been a while since tiles have made their way up and above from the floors all the way to the ceiling, giving any space a fresh look with a bit of more texture. This fits perfect for anyone who’s going with a neutral look but wants to have more visuals in their space, specially with summer just starting and neutral themes are on the rise for any interior space.
The Sink Skirt Revival
A hint of nostalgia, the sink skirt is back in the trends and its here to stay. We remember this being known by many as many to be outdated, but the fact that this would add more texture and patterns giving a good compliment to the solid colors that are now trending, this trend would sit right with the current flow of interior fashion.
Golden Finishes
“Sinks has moved up on the scale of importance of kitchen design” or at least that’s what Smeg’s product development and training manager, Joan Fraser has to say.
It is evident aesthetic has made a major impact on wet areas of the kitchen as much as they have brushed the furniture and appliance design. Meaning that we are here to witness sink trends that aesthetically compliments the whole kitchen, and there is nothing grander than gold finishes. Going well with both dark and light surroundings, golden finishes will be ideal and aesthetically phenomenal to have in your kitchen. With what the market has seen through the first half of the year, I am comfortable to say that this trend will stick around.
Wooden Finishes
It’s been quite a while since wood has been a bit out of quarantine and as things are seen now, it is about to if not already is, making a revival.
From cabinets to other furniture bits, wooden finishes are set to make a breakthrough this year. With pantries also making a comeback, this will be even more evident.
