05 Summer Infused Interior Design Trends You Shouldn’t Miss in 2021

Summer décor has always been colorful and beautiful, bringing in the summer vibes we all have been familiar with. Reconnecting with nature the comfort all around these trends including the natural colors, comfy fabrics and breezy vibes gives off a vibe mostly influenced by boho styles. It’s all about getting more sunshine and breeze into your home and make summer feel more homely.

Some of these trends have been around for a while, meanwhile others are making a comeback after being away for a while. You would decide which ones goes best with your homes and what you already have around you, most if not all these trends will combine well with each other too.

  1. Nature and more nature

This trend has always been around during the summer as long as we can remember. Lately we have seen a boost in people’s obsession of having plants as a part of their homes, more like a part of their families. Most of the people who has experienced this tells us that being involved in the process of growing a plant is more therapeutic, a great addition to already known aesthetics of having greenery inside your home.

This being a part of boho décor, its requires less effort to compile what you have in mind for the summer and greenery, as I said before most of these trends go along better than you’d think. This is also a trend that could go throughout the year, with you switching plants according to the seasons.

  1. Bring in the curves

As we move into the summer, we are seeing a massive urge towards to rounded shapes in interior designs. From furniture to mirrors, the curves are taking over this summer. Round shapes are known to look kinder and more welcoming, making these the perfect for a cozy summer mood.

If you are considering this challenge, it’s a key to keep in mind that everything around the chosen center piece, for example a sofa should go with the shape. The rug in front of it, footstool, and even the cushions should give the shape and curve edges, which will eventually compliment the center piece even more and makes everything look flawless.

  1. Welcome more sunshine

Sunshine is undoubtfully what we mostly love about summer, natural light filling in your spaces and giving that vibrant energy. The biggest summer trend when it comes to interior designs would definitely be homes with plenty of natural light.

It might not be the easiest trend to achieve especially if you don’t own the space you live, however you can attempt to get in more sun through lighter shades of curtains or by simply leaving the windows wide open. However, if you own the space you live in, you can build in new and more effective windows that would fill in the space with natural light throughout the day. Do note that this, getting more natural light into your homes is constantly recommended by many interior designers worldwide.

  1. Get in more blues

Summer and blues are poetic to the eyes, the blue skies and beachy vibes goes well with boho designs and really shows off the season in one color. For this and many more reasons the color blue was voted as one of the top summer interior designs of 2021 by the who’s who of interior designers.

You could go with a richer blue with one of your living rooms walls or a lighter blue linens or furniture complimenting a white back, making your living room more elegant yet keeping things in check with simplicity. More into minimalism? I would recommend using cobalt blue pops around the room to add more vibrancy.

  1. Keep it minimal

Minimalism has been featured an interior design trend numerous times in the past and this won’t be the last time for sure.

However, the trend has evolved a lot since it first started gaining popularity. Before the trend revolved around clean lines, seamless structures, and a stylishly simple design, which is now seeing changes as designers are now focused on other perspectives of minimalism. As of now minimalism is less about just empty spaces but more about how little things like, sunlight, greenery, or more could liven up a space.
